Press conference: Transparency International Switzerland launches Unmask the Corrupt campaign
Cobus de Swardt, Managing Director of Transparency International’s global Secretariat, will hold a press conference together with Eric Martin, Chair of Transparency International Switzerland, to mark the Switzerland launch of Transparency International’s effort to unmask the corrupt.
Secret companies and opaque corporate ownership structures allow corrupt businesspeople and politicians to hide their stolen wealth. It is, therefore, in Switzerland’s interest – both as a country and a financial hub – to pursue robust policies in relation to international corruption which often has links to organised crime. Switzerland should not offer opportunities for the corrupt to get away with it.
At the press conference, de Swardt and Martin will discuss upcoming Swiss legislation related to money laundering and secret company ownership.
