Award for innovative use of technology to improve governance in Francophone developing countries

The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Transparency International, CFI (the French Operator in Media Cooperation) and Liberté Living-Lab are pleased to announce the launch of the Digital Award for Transparency.

The Digital Award for Transparency honours individuals and civil society organisations who have developed innovative digital technology tools used to improve governance in Francophone developing countries. The award has three categories: Open Data, Citizen Engagement and Digital Anti-Corruption Tools.

Nominations for the award will be judged by a committee of experts from the digital sector and the anti-corruption movement. Project submissions from developing countries where innovative digital tools are used to tackle the pressing challenges that corruption poses for sustainable development are accepted.

Nominations are open to the public and can be submitted here until 20 October 2017.

This year’s three winners will receive their awards at the Digital Award for Transparency ceremony in Paris on 8 December 2017. Each winner will be awarded a monetary prize of €10,000. In addition, Liberté Living-Lab will offer to one or several project submissions a three month residency in Paris.
