Fernando Lugo, President of Paraguay
Fernando Lugo was sworn in as Paraguay’s president on 15 August. Before entering politics, Lugo served as a Roman Catholic bishop in one of Paraguay's poorest areas. He has created high expectations of change by promising to tackle corruption and inequality. Lugo tells Transparency Watch about how he plans to fight corruption in his country.
