Transparency International's Annual Reports
Corruption fuels poverty and injustice for millions of ordinary citizens. Transparency International (TI) exists to create change towards a world free of corruption; to challenge the inevitability of corruption, and offer hope to its victims. A global network of more than 90 locally established chapters, TI brings together relevant players from government, civil society, business and the media to promote transparency in elections, public administration, procurement and business.
At the forefront of innovation, in 2006, TI developed new tools and refined existing ones to combat corruption in the private sector, politics, development cooperation and public contracting. These tools, as well as examples of successful anti-corruption initiatives at the regional and international levels are showcased in TI’s Annual Report 2006. The Annual Report also contains the Corruption Perceptions Index, Bribe Payers Index, Global Corruption Barometer, contact information for chapters around the world and the stories of individuals fighting against corruption on the front–lines.
