SHVIL's (Transparency International) Israel General Assembly Meeting

Israel, 04 May 2008

The General Assembly of SHVIL – TI Israel was held at Tel Aviv University on April 28th, in the presence of its devoted members.

Prof. Gross, SHVIL's chairperson, gave a comprehensive review of the activities and achievements of SHVIL in 2007. Mrs. Galia Sagy, SHVIL's CEO, presented the work programme for 2008. The organization's budgetary report was approved and the report of the Audit Committee was accepted.

The highlight of the evening was the biennial elections for the Board of Directors, and the farewell ceremony from the departing directors Dr. Lea Shilo, Ahmad Massarawa, Zeev Pilpel and Dr. Doron Greenberg, amongst Shvil's founders.

Prof. Gross was reelected to the position of chairperson. The new Board of Directors Are: Prof. Yair Orgler, Dr. Micha Angel, Zviya Gross, Varda Silberberg, Dr. Irit Haviv-Segal, Dov Katz, prof. Ran Lachman, Jacob Sabo, Yehuda Porath, zeev Shatzky and Susanne Tam.

SHVIL warmly welcomes the new BOD and is looking forward toward the upcoming year and the challenges it holds.

During the evening the General Assembly has voted on an important matter:

Changing Shvil's name. It was decided that the name will be officially changed to Transparency International Israel. The request for a change of name was filed and at present we are awaiting the governments approval.
