Latin-American Regional Conference: Commitment and Co-operation in the Fight Against Corruption and Transnational Bribery

The Latin American Regional Conference: “Commitment and Cooperation in the Fight Against Corruption and International Bribery”, shall take place on the 29th and 30th of September in Mexico City, having been hosted by the Mexican government and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) with the collaboration of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the Organization of American States (OAE).

The conference is focused mainly towards public or civil servants of the three government levels, as well to all those business-persons, attorneys, accountants and civil society organizations interested in the topic of anti-corruption.

Session topics include:

  • Global and regional challenges in combating bribery of foreign public officials in international business transactions
  • International and regional co-operation for mutual legal assistance and extradition
  • Fighting bribery in public procurement
  • The OECD’s work against corruption
  • Corporate liability in the fight against transnational bribery
  • Enhancing the efficacy of law enforcement mechanisms to fight foreign bribery in Latin America
  • Detecting transnational bribery through whistleblowers and the media
