Counterfeit drugs have claimed countless lives around the world, for example by substituting water for adrenaline. Their distribution and sale leaves behind a devastating legacy for humanity, such as propagating resistant strains of tuberculosis and malaria. The Global Corruption Report 2006, with a special focus on Corruption in Health, addresses the problem of counterfeit drugs as well as other types of corruption in health. The Report will be released 1 February 2006.
